Prior to publication in RRIS, papers are first placed on a thorough editorial and double-anonymous peer-review process which is structured as follows:
-
PAPER SUBMISSION
Author MUST submit paper only through the authorized RRIS paper submission system or by email, rris@royal.ng.
-
PAPER PREVIEW
At least two editors conduct an initial review of the paper, checking for suitability within the RRIS scope and compliance with editorial guidelines. The author will receive a notice of review (NOR). The NOR will be a notice of one of 3 possible decisions by the editorial personnel. These are: clearance, noncompliant, or requiring update to resubmit.
-
PAPER REVIEW ACTIVATION
If paper received a clearance notice, or a requiring update to resubmit notice with a subsequent clearance notice (following implementation of requested update), the author will recieve a scheduling bill and after payment, the paper is advanced for peer-review. The reviewers utilize the necessary time within the processing period of the scheduled Issue (the Issue which the author has purchased or scheduled a paper for) to review a paper. Because RRIS uses a double-anonymous peer review, all remarks are communicated to the handling editor-personnel who in turn communicate to the author. The author is required to address all remarks of the reviewers which much be confirmed by the editors and peer-reviewers. The reviewers stipulate a reasonable timeframe within which author addresses remarks and this must be strictly adhered to.
-
NOTICE OF REVIEW COMPLIANCE OR NONCOMPLIANCE
Following autor's response to the paper review, the handling editor issues a notification confirming author(s') complaince or indicating noncompliance with the review process. If compliance is confirmed, a clearance for publication (CfP) is issued and the author is billed a service charge. If noncompliance is indicated, the paper will be deemed withdrawn or rejected.
-
PUBLICATION OF PAPER BY THE DUE DATE
Following author's payment of service charge, the paper will be published on the due date, usually, on the 28th day of the scheduled month.
